About Us

Here at the Painted River Farm we are a family owned and operated business. We have been operating since the early 1960’s. We started back then with a dairy farm and switched over to Beef cattle in the late 1960’s.

We have been raising our livestock from the beginning with the health and the welfare of the herd as top priority with food safety as equally important. Our motto is “If we won’t eat it, you won’t eat it”. Our family has grown up in 4-H and living off our farm; we have been very fortunate to be able to live like this and we want to be able to share that with our friends and neighbors.

We were the first beef farm in BC to be certified with the BC SPCA farm welfare certification. We got their certification in 2004 and we have been part of their program ever year until 2018 . They have a wonderful group of farm welfare experts that visit our farm yearly and we stay in contact with them several times throughout the year. The relationship that we have with the SPCA has been of great value for us and for them with the ability to discuss current matters regarding the animal welfare at any time. We are very proud to be members of the BC SPCA and feel that they have done a lot to bring farm animal welfare to the public interest.

We also received certification trough the BC Verified Beef Production in 2007 and we continue to support this program for animal welfare and  an on-farm food safety program for beef producers in Canada

We are very proud of our records as we are able to trace & track all of our livestock on the farm from when they were born to where they are sent to. We are very conscious about how we treat and raise all of our animals on the farm; they are part of our family and they look to us for care.

We are located in the natural beauty of the Fraser Valley on Barnston Island less than 40 min from West Vancouver and Downtown Vancouver. For directions and the map to our location click on the button below
